Boxing Focus Pads / Mitts

Hitting the focus pads can be such great fun and a challenging workout.

You don’t have to be a boxer to enjoy the benefits of it. Especially if its outside or down the beach!! The intensity can go up and down, it’s just all around a great fun workout.

It requires lots of energy and coordination. Focus on rhythm, timing, accuracy, speed and range. You don’t always have to try in hit hard all the time.

BOXING FOCUS PADS/MITTS TIPS

1-Hold the focus pads in front of your body and face, not on top of it. There needs to be space between your pads and face.

2-Hold the pads no wider than the strikes body and slightly angled inward. Avoid flaring your elbows out to the side.

3-The pad person is in control and sets peace and speed.

4-When absorbing or receiving the punch, the pad holder should catch the punch.

Lock you thoracic and move with every punch thrown towards the stoker.

5-It’s up to you and your fitness level on how long you hit the pads for but normally 1-2 minutes is a great start, then building up to 2-3 minutes with 4-8 rounds with a 1-minute break in between.

6-Please check out our articles regarding Focus Pad / Mitts Combination

7-Go out and enjoy the fresh air and the challenge of a focus Pad / Mitt session.
